Notice Under The Americans With Disabilities Act
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), the Village of Virginia Gardens will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of the disability in its services, programs, or activities.
Employment: The Village of Virginia Gardens does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA.
Effective Communication: The Village of Virginia Gardens will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in the Village of Virginia Gardens programs, services, and activities.
Accommodations to Policies and Procedures: The Village of Virginia Gardens will make all reasonable accommodations within the parameters of its policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities.

The Village of Virginia Gardens will not place a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids/services or reasonable accommodations within the parameters of its policies and programs, such as providing access to and from locations that are open to the public but are not accessible to persons who use wheelchairs.
Notice of Title VI Nondiscrimination Rights and Protections
The Village of Virginia Gardens operates its programs, services, and activities in compliance with federal nondiscrimination laws including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statutes and regulations.
Title VI prohibits discrimination in federally assisted programs and requires that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin (including limited English proficiency), be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal assistance.
Related federal nondiscrimination laws administrated by the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, or both prohibit discrimination on the basis of age, sex, and disability. These protected categories are contemplated within the Village of Virginia Garden’s Title VI Programs consistent with federal interpretation and administration.
Additionally, the Village of Virginia Gardens provides meaningful access to its programs, services, and activities to individuals with limited English proficiency, in compliance with US Department of Transportation policy and guidance on federal Executive Order 13166.
